Carlos Alberto Bezerra de Moura was previously executive officer and CFO of Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineração (CBMM), having held that position since May 2011. He will take up the new role on 16 September 2019.
BRF’s global CEO Lorival Nogueira Luz Junior has been managing the role on an interim basis.
Moura’s previous roles include the position of corporate vice-president and CFO of Diagnósticos da América S.A. (DASA). He also acted as officer to the wholesale sector and was partner of Itaú Unibanco Holding Financeira, from December 2001 to November 2009 and worked previously at Banco Bozano, Simonsen and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
He graduated in accounting from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ and holds a post-graduation degree on financial administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas do Rio de Janeiro (FGV/RJ) and an MBA degree on managerial administration from Fundação Dom Cabral, with an extension from Kellogg School of Management.
Earlier this year, BRF and Marfrig announced that they were in talks for a potential partnership that would have created a new entity with a combined sales of R$17.4bn (Q1 2019). However the “commercial relationship will remain unchanged”, due to the businesses being unable to reach an agreement on the terms and conditions related to the governance structure for the proposed combined company.
